The total export cargos of 41,417 tonnes comprised of 27,436 tonnes of containerised cargo; 460 tonnes of bulk cargo; 7,873 tonnes of clinker; 2,348 tonnes of wheat and 3,300 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 7,315 containers comprising of 3,827 containers import and 3,488 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,050 of 20's and 1,337 of 40's loaded while 03 of 20's and 50 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 848 of 20's and 255 of 40's loaded containers while 368 of 20's and 881 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were five ships namely Hyundai Brave, Kota Kaya, New Challenge, CT Confidence and Rickmers New Orleans carrying containers, mogas, chemical and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were six vessels viz. Cosco Japan, APL Chongqing, Kota Kaya, MOL Globe, YM Efficiency and MT Quetta carrying containers and oil tanker respectively currently at the berths.
The total import cargo of 119,808 tonnes includes 43,800 tonnes of LNG: 5,800 tonnes of palm oil; 19,365 tonnes of coal; 8,527 tonnes of canola; 3,200 tonnes of chemical; 4,327 tonnes of steel coil and 34,789 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 48,051 tonnes includes 48,051 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 4,360 containers comprising of 1,831 containers import and 2,529 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday. There were three ships namely CV MSC Tomoko, CV Maersk Seletar and MT Horin Trader carrying containers and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while two more ships namely MV Arriah-1 and MT Al-Karaana carrying coal and LNG respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of ten vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, canola, chemical, LNG and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as eighteen vessels viz. CV MSC Valencia, CV Tempanos, MV Gao Yu, MV Ocean Success, MV Asia Emerald-IV, MV Elmatador, MV Vita Harmony, MV Apiradee Naree, MV Port Macau, MV Valvovine, MV Ikan Pulass, MT White Purl, MT BW Rhine, MT Spica, MT Chemroad Lily, MT Chemroad Dita, MT Globe Glory and MT Navigate Voileta respectively carrying containers, bitumen, steel products, coal, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV MSC Valencia, CV Tempanos, CV Hugo Schulte, MV Gao Yu and MT Navigate Voileta carrying containers, bitumen and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Thursday There are two ships namely CV Cosco Japan and CV Hugo Schulte carrying containers due to arrive on Friday.
